Habits of the Heart
How women and families are treated in a health care or social service setting can play a powerful role in deterring them from receiving necessary services. Whether you are a clinic director, agency manager, or healthcare provider, you will be able to use the information presented in this curriculum to help your staff, volunteers, and colleagues develop a sense of teamwork, positive interdependence, and greater responsiveness to patients. Experience implementing the Habits of the Heart program across Indiana has shown that participants demonstrate increased cultural competence, enhanced awareness of their patient’s needs, better service to low-income families, and increased staff retention.
