Description:
Every year in Indiana, approximately 9,000 babies require some type of resuscitation at birth. The decisions made by health care providers in this "golden hour" immediately after birth may carry life-long implications. Safe and effective neonatal resuscitation is dependent upon the knowledge and skill of physicians and nurses working collaboratively as a team. Simulation-based training incorporates adult learning theory, real-time clinical situations and debriefing to allow a healthcare team to practice skills and evaluate their performance. In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to use simulation-based training in clinical scenarios.
