What's Killing Indiana's Infants?: Perspective from NWI Times Reporter Giles Bruce

Every year, about 600 Indiana babies die before their first birthdays. That's enough to fill 33 kindergarten classrooms or 11 school buses. A baby dies about every 14 hours in this state. Giles Bruce, the health reporter for The Times of Northwest Indiana, always wondered why the state had such a problem with infant mortality. He recently undertook a six-month investigation to answer that daunting question. Mr. Bruce will give us his perspective and an overview of what he has learned after doing this important investigation.
