Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) Perinatal Disparities
The goal of this project is to lower disparities in perinatal outcomes and allow equal access to quality comprehensive perinatal care. IPN's State Perinatal Advisory Board serves as the "home team" (advisory group) for the strategic planning process in this initiative led by the ISDH.
- In the next phase of the project, the advisory group will work with health professionals, organizations, human service agencies, neighborhood associations, local government and community residents in Indiana's high-risk counties to develop a community-based strategic plan.
- County meetings occurred in Lake County (Gary), St. Joseph County (South Bend), Elkhart County (Elkhart), Allen County (Fort Wayne), and Marion County (Indianapolis).
- Working with high-risk counties, IPN collaborated with ISDH to conduct an October 2004 conference: Eliminating Perinatal Health Disparities.
